The Global Studies: Global Political Economy and Institutions Emphasis examines how political and economic dynamics play out across historical contexts and contemporary world societies, institutions, and organizations. In this emphasis, students will take an interdisciplinary lens to analyze the intersections of order and disorder, wealth and power, cooperation and conflict, and the shifting economies of race, class, gender, and labor. Beyond the classrooms, students will also develop a wide range of professional and global competencies through internships and research mentorships. These experiences are designed to launch impactful careers in academia, international business, global development, and transnational advocacy.
