Global Studies: Global Cultures Emphasis
Description
Enrich your understanding of global cultural flows in our increasingly interconnected world with the Global Studies: Global Cultures Emphasis. In this emphasis, students will explore the critical role that cultural production, representation, and consumption play in shaping the international landscape. Through interdisciplinary coursework, students will develop the cross-cultural competency necessary to examine the intricate interplay of cultural identities, social forces, and local currents within broader processes of globalization. Students will become more adaptable to unfamiliar environments and develop their ability to communicate ethically and meaningfully with individuals and groups from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Learning Outcome
Students will be able to analyze how local, regional, and/or national cultures have been impacted by globalizing forces.
