The Arizona Center for Judaic Studies invites you to an upcoming lecture in the Ralph and Sally Duchin Campus Lecture Series:

How Zionism Revolutionized Jewishness

Featuring Ofer Idels (University of Calgary)

Special Early Leil Shavu’ot Learning Program

“Zionism” is one of the most contested and charged terms in modern political and historical discourse. This lecture moves beyond contemporary slogans and debates to revisit the movement’s early years through a human lens. By exploring the experiences of young Jews seeking to escape discrimination and isolation, the talk reveals how Zionism emerged as a powerful effort to create a new sense of belonging and collective identity.
